Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #245

Welcome to the Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!

Weather has been crazy this week for so many. Some of you are dealing with flooding rains and for some it is scorching hot! It is a challenge for many of you as you have to go outside – perhaps you have animals to care for or you farm for a living and can’t simply ignore those chores for a day or two. My hope is that you are well and safe!

We had a few entries last week as we try to revive our little hop here.

For those of you who love pork loin (I am talking to you mom!) here is a yummy looking recipe from Simply Living the Dream.

And be sure to read the entire blog as it is a cute story!

What do you have to share with us this week? Please enter your recipes, fun stories, farm girl antics or whatever you are doing to bring out your farmgirl this week!

Thanks for joining and reading! Have a great Friday.

Let’s hop!

Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #243

Welcome to the Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!

It doesn’t matter whether you are a first timer or visit weekly; I am glad you stopped by! This is a great place to share what you are up to and to brag a little.

I am always inspired by what is shared here. I loved the quiet, peaceful post from Mid-Life Blogger last week, Be Still. She found herself without electricity and truly made the most of the day in stillness and enjoyment of her surroundings. I think we all need a “Be Still” day every once in awhile. Thank you for sharing!

And we had pretzels and refinishing and multiple entries on chickens and eggs and yummy goodies and well just so lots of good stuff to look at. Thank you to all that participate. You make Fridays so much fun!

So let’s do it shall we? Time to hop!

Share a post about what your inner and outer farmgirl is doing and feeling this week. Brag on yourself and your skills! Share what being a farmgirl means to you; you don’t have to live on a farm to be a farmgirl! 😉

Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #241

Happy Friday and Happy Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!

It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood! We have 70’s today and I will enjoy because storms are coming tonight and we see 20’s and 30’s again over the weekend. February weather always leaves you guessing!

I planted my first green babies this week. That makes me giddy!

We also finished our kitchen!

This has been a 2 year project. We totally gutted it, hubby made most of the cabinets, we moved doors and windows and well it has taken us awhile. BUT Tuesday we got the last of the countertops! I will have to share some before and after pics in an upcoming blog. It is wonderful and was worth the work. 90% of the time the work was fun to do together. And we have survived a couple of these kitchen remodels now so our marriage must be rock solid!

OK— last week there were several great entries on the hop. BUT how can you resist chocolate chip cookies that someone has made THREE times in a week. Oh yes they must be good and we all must try these! Thank you Tami from A Creative Homemaker for sharing!

Let’s get hopping shall we? Have a great weekend whatever you do!

Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #239

Welcome to the Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!

We finally got a dusting of snow this week. It has been a mild winter so far. I say that knowing that Feb and March can bring some winter storms so I am not counting us home free yet!

We have been remodeling our kitchen for almost two years now. We are on the back end and almost done! We completed our peninsula last night and it is waiting the granite top. It is due to be installed on Feb. 21! I am beyond excited to see the completion of this soon.

You can see I have already started playing around with what I might want on it. After the top is one I will post pics of the entire thing.

What are you up to? Have you started any seeds yet? I am about 10 days out from starting that. How’s your crafts? Animals? Let’s go to hopping so you can share what you are up to!

Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #238

Welcome to the Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!

Welcome back to our friends here and welcome to all that are new! I can’t wait to see what you are up to.

Last week I shared that I was doing an inventory of seeds. Inventory = order more seeds (of course). I got them all this week! I am very, very excited. In a couple of weeks some of these will get their start under the grow lights.

Last week on the hop EmmaFrancisathome shared her meal plan.  I love meal planning and using ingredients on hand and only buying what is missing. Less waste and a plan after a busy day is ALWAYS helpful. Check out her menus; plus she has a link to previous week’s plans. Thanks for sharing your blog!

Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #236

Welcome to the Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!

If you are returning, welcome back. If you are new, I am so excited you have stopped by. I have been dreaming of spring and summer gardening all week. I LOVE all my seed catalogs. How about you?

I have also been doing some germination tests on my seeds to see what it is I REALLY need to order. I have very little seed control over myself so I am TRYING. If you have never done a seed germination test, it is easy- here’s a “how to.”

Last week on the hop there was the most beautiful piano table! Did you see it? If not you must check this out from Repurposed For Life. Isn’t it gorgeous?

What have you been up to this week. Please share a blog or two!!!

Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #235

Welcome to Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!

And Happy New Year!

We are about TWO weeks into the new year. Are you a resolution maker? Do you like to kick start the new year with a new habit or do you like to try something new?

Since I love to cook, I have been looking in my cookbooks and Pinterest for new recipes to try out. I have made some new soups, tried new things with spaghetti squash and made my own enchilada sauce this week instead of using a bottled one when making enchiladas. OK– they were delicious!

What about you? Is there something new you want to attempt in 2017? Something you want to brag about doing? This is the place!

Brag about your cooking, farming skills, gardening, crafting, sewing, painting and whatever else you do to connect with your inner farmgirl. It can be a new endeavor for 2017 or one that you have mastered!

Let’s blog hop!

Here’s some simple guidelines:

  1. Write a post about your farmgirl lifestyle and brag a little about your farmgirl talents while your at it! Share what being a farmgirl means to you. Include lots of photos of your farm, crafts, animals,  quilts, home decor projects and thrifty make overs, your backyard garden, chicken coop, recipes, studio or workshop. You get the idea!

I am happy to journey with you again this year! Here’s to a lot of fun and a lot of sharing in 2017.

Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #233

FGF LogoV2Welcome back to the Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop! I was slammed at my day job last Friday so unfortunately blog hop did not happen. BUT we are back this week and we are in AUGUST!

Wow I cannot believe it. I love this time of year. This is when, for me, the hard work from spring planting comes to fruition and we have more food than we can eat. Preserving and sharing it begins!

Pickles were on the agenda this morning. Early this morning I picked over 11 pounds of cucumbers!

The smaller ones got scrubbed and 8 pounds found themselves waiting to be pickled.

IMG_20160805_090510989We now have seven quarts of yummy, garlicky, “pickly” goodness.

IMG_20160805_102159115

This is an easy and delicious recipe that I have used for the last three years. It is from DIY Natural and it is amazing.

I hope you are having an amazing summer. I know for many of you this is the time of year that your children are either headed back to school or you may be gearing up for a new homeschooling year. Cheers to a great school year!

So, let’s hop! I am sure you have been doing much over the last couple of weeks, so start your bragging on yourself!
